Can-Am Cryo provides infertile patients with anonymous donor semen and is the exclusive Canadian distributor for Fairfax Cryobank—one of the largest and most respected sperm banks worldwide.

We are currently accepting applications from healthy, college educated men of all backgrounds between the ages of 18 and 39. This program requires a six month commitment and each donor is expected to produce one specimen per week on site, therefore you must live or work near our Hamilton facilities. (For other North American locations click here.)

The semen donation hours are 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM, seven days a week. Availability outside these scheduled hours can be arranged. Our location is convenient and has free parking.

Step One

The first step to becoming a donor is to request a Donor Applicant Questionnaire. Please e-mail us at info@canamcryo.com and provide the following information: your name, address, and how you heard about Can-Am Cryo Services Corp. so that an application can be mailed to you.

Once you have completed the application, please mail it back to us (see Contact Us). The laboratory supervisor will evaluate the application and if you qualify for the program, you will be contacted for an interview. The interview is the first step of the screening process, which can be completed in four weeks. Interviews are conducted Monday though Friday between 8:00 AM and 12:00 Noon. At the time of the interview, the laboratory supervisor will review your application with you, explain the anonymous donor program in its entirety, answer any questions you may have, and ask you to produce a specimen.

Step Two

Step two of the screening process involves producing three or four semen specimens for evaluation of both fresh semen quality and cryo-survivability.

Step Three

After completing step two, qualified applicants will begin step three, which involves medical and infectious disease testing. The donor applicant is required to give specimens of blood, urine, and semen for the genetic and infectious disease testing. In addition, a general physical examination will be completed. It takes approximately three weeks before the results are received on the submitted specimens. After the final results have been reported, reviewed and passed quality standards, the applicant will be asked to start donating on a regular basis as an active donor.

The date your first specimen is produced as an active donor will be considered the official start date for your six month commitment. At the end of this period, you will be reassessed as a donor. If for some reason you chose to stop donating or were asked to stop donating, the date when this occurs would be considered your official stop date. You will be required to provide blood samples three and six months from your official stop date so that the quarantined samples can be released. Each sample that is produced and inventoried for distribution is quarantined for six months.

Can-Am Cryo Services Corp. is dedicated to cryopreserving anonymous donor semen for infertile patients. We are committed to our donors and require the same commitment from them. We look forward to hearing from you and appreciate your interest in helping couples to Achieve their frtility goals by participating as an anonymous semen donor.
