Sperm banking

**DUE TO COVID-19, CAN-AM HAS SUSPENDED ALL SPERM BANKING SERVICES UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE**

Storing sperm is a simple way to protect against loss of future fertility. Medical procedures such as vasectomy, cancer treatment, and surgical and hormonal treatment associated with gender-confirming surgery are common reasons for sperm banking. Your risk of fertility loss may also be increased by engaging in occupations, recreational activities or medical treatments with a chance of injury to the spine or reproductive organs, or due to exposure to chemicals or radiation that cause genetic mutations. Common medications and chronic diseases which cause erectile dysfunction can indirectly impair fertility as well.

Your physician may also recommend banking some sperm as a temporary “backup” if you are undergoing IVF treatment. CAN-AM has been providing sperm freezing and storage services since 2001. We make the process convenient for you:

Download the Blood Testing request form and give it to your doctor so you can complete blood testing necessary for storing your sperm. Fax or mail us your results.

Set up your storage account by downloading the account registration forms. Bring the completed forms with you to your appointment. They can also be mailed, scanned/emailed or faxed to us at our contact information.

Call or email to book an appointment at our lab in Hamilton, ON.  If you are unable to travel to our lab to make deposits, you can order our PRESERVE Sperm Transport kit to collect your sperm sample at your convenience at home.

Collect your sperm sample for deposit at the lab or at home with the PreServe Kit. Refer to Banking Fees for freezing and Kit costs. We will freeze your sperm and perform a sperm quality assessment. You can request that a copy of this assessment report be sent to your doctor. Based on the results, your doctor may advise you to store more than one deposit in order to meet your goals.

No matter how many deposits you make, you pay only one storage fee. Pay monthly, or purchase yearly or multi-year storage packages at a reduced rate.

Once you are ready to use your sperm in fertility treatment, you can have your deposits shipped to your clinic.
